Dr. Tan Receives a Grant from the ONR for Hybrid Manufacturing

The project is titled “Research and Education in Hybrid Manufacturing and Advanced Material Remanufacturing” from Office of Naval Research (N00014-18-1-2287), $174,000. This grant will be used to acquire a hybrid manufacturing system to provide key instrumentation in urgent need for the Center for Applied Research in Advanced Manufacturing at Texas Tech University (TTU), and promote interdisciplinary R&D activities among STEM programs including Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc. Implementation of this equipment will foster the development of next-generation hybrid manufacturing platform for agile and lean manufacturing/remanufacturing in military theater.
